Re Up to date STD tests: this is an issue that frequently comes up, and of course, the tests are necessary. However, there is a certain inherent etiquette - if one is looking for an AI donor, it is the recipient normally carries the test costs. If it is NI, his costs are carried by the male participant... This is simply a reflection of how many men there are who are looking for NI, and the number of AI donors...

I had a donor who was perfect and we chatted off and on. However, he was unwilling to provide a more recent STD test until next year. This is what has me beginning a new search. I am giving myself until December and then I will move towards looking at adopting.
