[FreeSpermDonors] How much do you you know about the legal sperm donor agreement?

I have a question for anyone

How much do you you know about the legal sperm donor agreement?

I've been reseaching and found that sometimes the court systems will decide to go after the donor for support even thought the mother choose not to. A written donor agreement is useful if a dispute arises however it may not be considered powerful enough in a court of law to resolve parental responsibility.

I've been reading that the donors have to using a family law expert to help you write a legal donor agreement and many states require a physician to administer the transmission of sperm to make it legal. Here is one of other articles I found on the American Fertility Assoications website that was informative: http://www.theafa.org/article/using-a-known-sperm-donor-understanding-the-legal-risks-and-challenges/

The reason I'm asking is I really want to do this but signing just a contract just doesn't seem to be completely binding.

Does anyone else have feedback or suggestions

Thanks

There is definitely a risk in many US states, but it's worth remembering that the AFA's members make lots of money providing fertility treatment, so their advice might be biased, and they also don't mention the things that can go wrong with clinic treatment.

Most cases of private donation work out fine, and in almost all the
cases where there was a legal dispute, there was no written agreement
between the donor and recipients.
