Hello all
I thought I would take the time to say hi and THANKS to all the TRUE donors that have spend their time,money and knowledge into helping us couples,single peps and everyone else looking to become a parent and just love a child. I had read a post the other day that frankly pissed me off and when I asked my wife and a few friend we have in our infertility support group to read it; they were shocked and less than impressed by this person.
I have a clear understanding that donors have a right to be compensated for their travel,expenses and shippers as it is only fair. I can even see a donor asking that the women be well educated on their cycle, body and medications ( prenatal s ect.)
What I cant see, as a male even is why someone would need a full body pic of MY WIFE!( girlfriend,partner ect.) for his viewing? And why would she HAVE to be HWP? a lot of women dealing with infertility have or will end up taking meds that can or will increase their weight. This is a battle for them either way: They take the medications in hopes of a chance at getting pregnant the sacrifice is the weight gain. If they chose not to take the chance to take the medications they could loose out on valuable opportunities to have a baby.I am a reasonable man and I love my wife to no end, and she has gone thru a lot, in hopes of getting pregnant for US! and if she has gain weight that is a sacrifice she has made for US!
Now, as far as the $$$$, as we will know insurance coverage for persons dealing in infertility is limited, if your lucky to have it at all thru your employer. As a couple we have spent out of pocket close to $7432.16 for co-pays,medications, AI preps and fertilization as well as to see specialist.To tell someone " if you cant come up with the $60 your not financially ready for motherhood?" When is anyone 100% financially ready to be a parent! I have a five bedroom house and traded in my sports car for a SUV with child proof locks.In addition to that,we have every major item that a baby will ever need. I have a baby's room that has sat empty for over 3 years as I put my wife thru hell so we can become parents. And at this point I am STILL not ready!Being a parent has small part of what you give that child material wise and a lot more with how much can you love that child and share you time with that child so they feel needed and loved and wanted in return.And by no means do I advocate for anyone taking on the responsibility of being a parents that has nothing to their name or is already heavy relaying on the state for help??
If you don't already get the fact that a lot us couples are dealing with shame and issues due to our inability to Create children with the people we love YOUR CRAZY. It's cheapening this whole group and it's intent to have such a self righteous male flaunt his sperm as if it were some prize to sought after by all and again, your are wrong! people here are reaching out to get help and with any luck make a friend and get informed about how to make this easier for us all.
So the next time you post "SIR" be aware and respectful of what you write and if YOU feel your sperm might not meet a quality female up to your standards DON'T OFFER IT AT ALL!
